Let’s Play the Game the Right Way

A Message from our President:
Let’s Play the Game the Right Way

Greetings to all the incredible members of our Beecroft Wombats FC family! I wanted to take a moment to address an important matter that has been creeping onto our field lately.

I can’t help but notice that we’ve seen a surge in member offences, resulting in over 50 cards being flashed in just 10 rounds. That’s more than 5 cards per round, and honestly, it’s a number that doesn’t make us proud.

At Beecroft FC, we have always strived to foster an environment where players can develop their skills, forge lasting friendships, and create cherished memories. We know winning is great, but there’s more to the game than just the scoreline. It’s about respect both on and off the field. To that end, I would like to remind each and every one of you about the importance of playing with integrity, kindness, and adherence to the rules of North West Sydney Football and the Laws of the Game.

I encourage all players, coaches, managers, parents, and spectators to familiarise yourselves with the resources available regarding respect and good conduct. These resources include info such as the Let Kids be Kids Program, FA Spectator Code of Conduct, and NWSF Code of Conduct.

By equipping ourselves with the knowledge and understanding of these guidelines, we can collectively work towards fostering an environment that promotes fair play, sportsmanship, and positive experiences for everyone involved.

I have complete faith in the character and sportsmanship of our Wombats community. I urge each one of you to reflect upon these values and to take the necessary steps to uphold them. Together, we can restore the positive atmosphere and sense of pride that defines our beloved club.

Oh, and shoutout to our previous efforts in this space, resulting in winning the Fair Play Award twice (2015 & 2018). Let’s follow our own footsteps and bring home that trophy with pride once again!

Yours in football,

Bella Nimmo

President, The Mighty Wombats
